Books Galore!

My copy of Sweet Evil has finally arrived the bookstore and right after gym, I jumped on the bus to come pick it up! I began reading "Sweet Evil" about 6 pm and finished reading at 4 am! As my best friend comments, "you're as insane as ever" (referring to books... I think) and this one caught me off guard! I totally wouldn't have thought that I would love it THAT much! Review will be up (hopefully) soon!

"Kai like Thai. Only yummier." - Sweet Evil

These five books are what I bought today (August 3), aren't they beautiful?! City of Lost Souls has been delayed too much for me to buy that I just HAD to buy it today. Also bought Rift, the first novel to the prequel series to Nightshade. If you haven't read Nightshade, trust me, you'll want to! Then there's also the Selection, the Book of Blood and Shadow and Anna and the French Kiss.

Currently reading: Anna and the French Kiss

Then I'll have to do the "eenie minnie miney moe" song to choose which novel to read next because they're all so good!

Till then, I hope everyone is having a wonderful, wonderful day/ week. Happy reading everybody!

About

Hello :)

Lit Up My World isn't one of my grammar mishaps, "Lit" actually refers to "Literature", trying to make it sound unique than saying "Light Up My World"-- whereas, literature lights up our world.

Am I making sense?

My name is Michelle. I am a 17 years old as of Aug 10 '12. I want to share a little back story with you guys: My parents frequently reminds me of the irony of my life. I began my childhood incapable of reading. So when I was attending pre-school, they signed me up for an after-school tutoring class. The tutoring class should've lasted 3 months but only after a week of tutor and I began reading. My mom told me that ever since I knew how to read, I began obsessed with all the books in the house. I was such a reader that I would grab my copy of Disney books and read my parents to sleep. Now here I am, completely enticed by the beauty of words. Like everyone, I've had my ups and downs and I find great comfort in every page of a novel, either a rotting, old, dusty edition or a brand spankin' new one from the bookstore. There's seriously no way for me to emphasize how much my life revolves around novels and I hope that this passion of mine can be shared among you fellow readers.

As a 17 year old, I do have aspirations. You could take a lucky guess as to what I'd love to do: I'd love to become a writer, production crew (for tv/movie), screenplay writer, book editor and about two years ago I thought I wanted to be in the FBI's behavioural analysis unit (BAU) -- hahaha! Kids can dream. Basically, anything that centralizes on literature.

Also I may appear "too mature", maybe not, but I often get that but trust me, I'm just your average bookworm teen! I also have a lot of fan-girl moments so...

In this blog, often book reviews will be on Young Adult and very scarcely (for now) will I be reviewing on Adult books. However, if you guys do want more adult novels, don't be afraid to tell me and I will do my best to attain to your need!

Note: I am super new on this book review blog thing. Please be gentle with me and likewise, I will do my very best to talk about the books and hope that I may promote them well so that you guys can enjoy a good read!

Happy Reading Everyone!

Sincerely,
Michelle

My Philosophy

A book reviewer bases the review solely on their opinion. I wish that my reviews would encourage you to read them or perhaps tell you not to read them, however you may take it but please remember that if I disliked a book you never know that you may like a book and vice versa.

Here's a "nice" way to put it:

My mom would always say that whatever your parent serves on the table, it is all edible (referring to the vegetables I used to loathe). I like to take what my mom said and think of it as books, I mean, our parents did work hard to make ALL those money in order to feed us. I find it likewise with publishers  spending money to publish a book. So that's how I like to look at things.

It all comes down to taste and preferences but all books/ any other form of literature are great.
